As an abstraction, it's a good start; there needs to be more variation in the overall composition, however. The grid is a common solution, but there's not quite enough dynamism yet to make it uncommon. The major thing that's holding it back to start with is the over-all tonal range. The image is very gray and drab and the layer modes used with the grid aren't really helping much. I strongly coming in to all your layers and using adjustment layers as clipping masks to bring up the contrast on the whole image and and just paint back into the mask to finesse it. Also, you need to ask yourself what this image is doing conceptually.... I think that might help you figure out what needs to happen to make it more dynamic.
