A centralized composition can be very difficult to work with and refine, but it looks like your off to a good start. The hard part is going to be negotiating the "pasted together" quality of it right now. I look at this now and wonder "why photoshop? Why doesn't she just print out the pieces and glue them together on a piece of paper?" I think you need to figure out more what photoshop can do (maybe push blending modes farther?). Last, this image is hovering on the line between "maximal" and "minimal"... some decisions will have to be made in that regard as well....
